Proposed Change to Eligibility Criteria for Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR Recognition
The EPA is proposing a change to the eligibility criteria for achieving its Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR recognition for U.S. commercial new construction and major renovation projects. (Note that this change will not impact ENERGY STAR certification for existing buildings and plants.)
In March 2024, the EPA requested comments from the public on the proposed change. The comment period is now closed. The EPA will post a summary of comments and responses on this page in the coming weeks before finalizing and launching the change.
