EPA has finalized the Version 1.0 specification for pool pumps. As such, the comment period is now closed. The ENERGY STAR Pool Pump Version 1.0 Specification goes into effect on February 15, 2013, at which time manufacturers may elect to have their Certification Body (CB) certify their eligible products. Manufacturers interested in joining ENERGY STAR should visit the Manufacturers page. Partners and other interested parties with questions about ENERGY STAR for pool pumps can contact manufacturers directly.
Laboratories may begin testing products according to the final test method published below. EPA also encourages stakeholders to provide comments regarding the final draft specification to poolpumps@energystar.gov by January 31, 2013.
